Wanted

Anthropologie has always had a sweet spot in my heart. I remember the first item I bought from them, it was a basic black dress when I was fourteen for my mothers wedding. I was instantly in love solely because of the fact the inside label read Anthropologie. I highly appreciate the style of Anthropologies products which simply cannot be found anywhere else. Their clothes have an essence of class and feminism while being casual at the same time. Their jewelry is big and full of bling without being overwhelming, and their furniture, my favorite of all their products, has a rustic antique feel but come without the dirt and smells normal antiques come with.

With their beautiful furniture in mind, I have pulled three amazing couches off their website that I would place in my home immediately if I was able to afford them! Beautiful items come with a not so beautiful price.

I fell in love with the style and color of this couch right away. It looks as if it was pulled straight out of the 1920's. To me, this couch looks as if it belongs in a sun filled parlor somewhere down south in a wealthy mansion. The color, a light coral or salmony color, is just stunning. Although the price is not so stunning, priced at a whopping $3000. It has a velvet material which would feel very comforting in front of a fire place during the winter months or comfortable to share in iced tea on in the summer.

A life such as The Great Gatsby, or Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel comes to mind when I try and place this couch into real life. This couch is full of class and style. Although it would be hard to keep clean in my house, having a dog who likes to sleep on furniture. Its produced and hand finished here in the US. The upholstery is cream colored linen with wooden legs. Sadly it is out of my price range priced at an outstanding $2300.

Last but far from least I chose this handcrafted leather couch. Nice and cool for the summer time but comfortable to snuggle up on in the winter time, this couch is perfect for any season at any home. Leather is a tough material making it (mostly) spill proof, dog proof, and kid proof. I have always thought as leather as being one of the classiest materials, maybe because it is more expensive then most. That is the same with this couch, being the most expensive on my list it is selling for $3900. But more durable material comes with a price to pay!

I don't know what it is, but ever since I adopted my own place for college, I have been obsessed with interior design. I think the home you live in should express your own style otherwise its hard to feel comfortable in your own home. People will be much happier living in a space with their personal touches rather then a space somebody else has designed for them.

Have a great weekend!

Camo Recreated

I saw a wonderfully put together outfit on Cupcakes and Cashmere recently and wanted to recreate the outfit myself! But of course everything I have included is under $50. At the age of 20, going through school, and working as a hostess at a restaurant I just cant afford the beautiful clothes Emily can afford, sadly! But I am going to school for fashion so hopefully one day!

Emily is wearing:
J.Crew hat
Gap jacket
H&M shirt
J Brand shorts
Madwell Belt
Prada bag

Here I have recreated her same look for less:
Asos sandals

Hope this provides some inspiration! My look was created using Polyvore.

Since I am a senior in high school and its spring time everyone probably knows whats coming up in a girls world who is obsessed with fashion. Yep, you guessed it, senior prom. Wearing a dress to senior prom and wearing a dress on your wedding day are the 2 most special occasions I could come up with when you should choose your dress carefully. Although when Im getting married and looking back on prom I will probably laugh thinking this wasnt that huge of a deal. But of course its fun to dream about right now. I wonder what Tavi would wear. Is Sierra Leone the Next Paris?

I recently stumbled upon an article about a fashion designer who grew up in Sierra Leone during civil war riots, left the country to study fashion in Paris and is now designing clothes in her home country. Her name is Katrina Manson. The article, linked here, calls her photos "fresh, the sort of thing that Paris Vogue would do but cheaper". I didnt get a chance to look at her clothing for sale but each item varies from $30-$100.

What do you think of her designs? Would you buy any of the items in the photos?

How to Borrow Clothes

Dont you hate it when you let your friends borrow your clothes and they return them with holes or their unwashed? Its so disrespectful! Just the other day I lent my favorite shorts (and I mean favorite, I have had those shorts for years and they were so comfterable and actually made my legs look good) and she returned them with the zipper broken! Of course I was planning on bringing it up with her but didnt want to risk our relationship and I try to avoid any awkward moments when I can. And there was nothing she could do about it but apologize, they were too old to buy and there was no way the zipper could be salvaged. Because we all love borrowing others clothes but hate lending out our own clothes I have made some rules to live by when wearing others clothes.

1. Dont rip the clothes

Possibly try and avoid jumping fences. Im not saying not to live your life to the fullest, if you must jump a fence or other such activites than jump it but be aware of the clothing items that are not yours. Wouldnt you hate it if your friends ripped your favorite sweater or your favorite jeans? And a ripped sweater in most cases, cant be fixed.

2. Do not stain the clothes

Once again, Im not saying to plan your whole life around what you are wearing but if you know you are going out to chinese food or are going to play touch football please dont wear my clothes. Nothing is worse than getting a piece of clothing returned with an unidentifible stain.
3. If you wear a bigger size than your friend be respectful and only borrow accesories or vests or other items than you know you can fit into

I once lent a sweater out to one of my really good friends. It was a sweater i got for 5 dollars from a thrift store but that doesnt mean I didnt love it. It was beautiful and from Ann Taylor, which means it must have costed a heafty sum from the actual store. But my friend who is a couple sizes larger than me wore it buttoned up for the whole day, and no matter how many times I washed it, it never shrunk back to its original size, which means it looks funny on me now.

4. Give the clothes back when asked
Please! I have learned my lesson here also. I still havnt gotten my clothes back which I lent out probably four years ago. The worst part? I see her often enough that she had to dodge the question a couple times a week before I just lost hope. But I have come across so many outfits that would be so adorable with that one piece of clothing but couldnt wear them!

5. If you want to borrow others clothing you must let them borrow yours as well. Fair is fair.

Here, I am guilty. After having so many bad expierences with lending clothes out I would borrow my friends clothes than never lend anything out of my own. I put this rule in at the last moment because I realized it was true. Hopefully I will learn my lesson.

Hopefully we all will learn our lesson!
Here are some old pictures I still havnt posted yet. I didnt think they deserved their own post since theres only a few of them but here they are! Im wearing an American Eagle Coat, Kensie sweater, Forever21 necklace, and Ugg boots. Have a great rest of the week!
